Models might look
similar but when examine closely, they are quite
different. When you search, pay
particular attention to accuracy and construction method. Look for large enough
photos to see if the windows and doors are dark decal
(will peel off eventually) or real cuts. Do the
photos show all angles of the model ship?
Your authentic model not
only serves you well but also will become a valuable
heirloom for your children to remember you by. Thank
you for allowing us to be in your recollection.
The German ship Bremen was notable for her
low streamlined profile and a modern approach to her
design. The Bremen sparked the
building of the large and very expensive express
liners of the 1930s.
SS Bremen was the first liner who broken two records
on her first two voyages, westbound and eastbound.
SS Bremen was a
German built ocean liner. At the time of her
construction, she and her sister ship the SS Europa
were the two most advanced, high speed steam turbine
ocean liners of her day. The German pair sparked an
international competition in the building of large,
fast, luxurious ocean liners that were national
symbols and points of prestige during the pre-war
years of the 1930s.
On her maiden
voyage, SS Bremen departed Bremerhaven for New York
City on 16 July 1929. She arrived four days,
17 hours, and 42 minutes later, capturing the
westbound Blue Riband from the Mauretania with an
average speed of 27.83 knots (51.54 km/h). This
voyage also marked the first time mail was carried
by a ship-launched plane for delivery before the
ship's arrival. A Heinkel HE 12 was launched a few hours before
arrival in New York with
11,000 pieces of mail in six mailbags
weighing 220 pounds which it delivered to New York
many hours before the ship docked at the North
German-Lloyd pier in Brooklyn.
On her
very next voyage back to Europe, Bremen took the eastbound Blue Riband with a time of
4 day 14 hours and 30 minutes and an average speed
of 27.91 knots (51.69 km/h).

If the
model of this very famous ship is wrong on many counts,
then one can assume that other models from those shops
are all short of authenticity.
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on this model. If
you can find a model of the same ship from another maker
which you can prove to be equal or more accurate, and
whose price is +- 30% of ours (i.e. a $3,000 model from
us would be compared with other makers' models that are
in the range of $2,100-$3,900), we will issue a full
refund plus $200 transferable gift card that you can
spend any time in our store. Just notify us of the issue
within 10 days of the model's delivery.
