EMPRESS LILLY

This Empress Lilly model was commissioned by DisneyAvenue.com. When you view the photos, pay attention to the beautiful and accurate decoration, the windows, the balcony railings... This art piece can only be made at ModelShipMaster.com.

The Empress Lilly was a replica paddle steamer riverboat on Village Lake. She was named after Walt Disney's wife and was an authentic re-creation of a 220-foot long x 62 feet wide 19th-century paddle-wheeler decorated in Louis XV style. She was designed by Walt Disney, imagineering to be as true to the eye as possible. Lillian Disney christened her on May 1, 1977.

Empress Lilly contained three restaurants and a jazz lounge. The Starboard Lounge had appetizers such as chicken liver pate, sauteed crab meat, oysters and clams. There were also after dinner drinks such as Buena Vista Coffee and Starboard Coffee. The Promenade Lounge was located above the Starboard Lounge and was more of a sitting area.

Special events included "Monday Night Huddles" were held from September to December of 1980. Members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would discuss the previous day's game, show play-by-plays and respond to questions from the audience before the Monday night game was show on a large screen. There was also a character breakfast in the morning. It was one of the few character breakfasts during the park's early years (seatings were at 9 and 10:30 a.m.) and kids that attended would receive a certificate or a pennant.

The paddle wheel at the aft end of the boat constantly churned, though the ship never moved. The Empress Lilly was one of the first locations of the now famous Disney Character Breakfasts.

On April 22, 1995, the Empress Lilly served her last meals. The restaurant was closed, all interiors were ripped out, and a new décor for a single restaurant was put in place. In addition, the old smoke stacks and paddle wheel, which gave the Lilly some added authenticity, were removed due to rust and rot. They were not replaced. The restaurant reopened as Fulton's Crab House on March 10, 1996.

This primarily wood model of the Empress Lily paddleboat is 31" long. Lighting feature is included. A boat without beautiful lighting is not a riverboat. LED light powered by standard 9v battery for your convenience. Our model has realistic and beautiful lighting. Cheap model makers can never keep up our with genuine artistic design and engineering ability.

This primarily wood model is built per commission only. We require only a small deposit (not full amount, not even half) to start the process. The remaining balance won't be due until the boat is completed. Please send us an email for a quote for a size of your choice. Please click here for lead time.
