The
110-foot
Caden Foss was delivered by
JT Marine in Vancouver, Wash. in 2017. She was named
after Caden Hansen, a great-great-grandson of company
founders Andrew and Thea Foss. Foss Maritime has
chartered the 6,772-hp azimuth stern drive (ASD) vessel,
owned by Vessel Chartering LLC, a subsidiary of Baydelta
Navigation Ltd. The vessel
initially worked from the Chevron Long Wharf Terminal in
Richmond, California.
Designed,
and equipped for standby, ship assist, and escort
assignments, Caden Foss is also outfitted for rescue
towing. Two Caterpillar 3516E diesel engines, with
Rolls-Royce US 255 FP z-drives produces a rated 6,772
horsepower.
Her
electrical service is provided by one 150kW generator
set, driven by a Caterpillar C7.1 diesel engine, and,
one, 65kW, Caterpillar C4.4 diesel engines. The tug's
capacities are 123,000 gallons of fuel and 6,530 gallons of
water.
The towing
equipment consists of a Markey DEPCF-52, electric hawser
winch, mounted on the bow. Outfitted with 450(ft) of
Cortland 3(in), Plasma, 12 by 12, line. With 12 by 12,
LoCo pendant on the bow. And, a Rapp, double-drum,
electric towing winch, mounted on the stern. Outfitted
with 2,500(ft) of 2.5(in) wire.
